Hi! Yesterday I made this lovely bookmark for my beloved husband. I just wanted to give him something nice and little and handmade from heart. He is a book-warm, so it fits.
I found an inspiration in the latest issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine (September 2017) where I found 5 great embossing folders. One of them has this beautiful flower theme.
I cut a stripe of white cardstock paper, 3 x 14,6 cm and embossed with the embossing folder. I turned the embossed motif up-side down and traced the lines with color gel pens. I matted the white stripe with baby blue paper, 3,5 x 14,6 cm.
To make the yellow bookmark, I cut a piece 5,5 cm wide and long about 18 cm. To get the top cut on the bookmark I used the ornamental square frame die, placed it diagonally on the bookmark and cut only through one corner of the die. With double sided adhesive tape I glued the colored motive on the bookmark. Then I punched the hole and embellished with yellow-white bakers twine and three matching wooden beads.
Material I used:
cardstock - scraps of white, baby blue and yellow
embossing folder - free gift from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine (September 2017)
square frame die - Xcut, embossing machine
bakers twine - yellow-white
